And now the last thing I’ll have at FanExpo Vancouver this weekend: hand-folded minicomics!
There will be 25 of them made and once they’re gone they will never be printed again. Never! My hands are too dainty to fold any more of these.
Of course, it will be posted here at a later date, but due to its nature as an interactively unfolded comic the reading experience is much better with the real thing.
A video for those who want to see what it’s like. Obvious spoilers for those who want to reserve the surprise for the first unfolding.
I’m pleased to announce that I have some four new prints for sale. All prints measure 11×17 inches, matte on a very nice heavy paper stock. I’m selling them for $10 each. I’ll have them with me at FanExpo Vancouver but you can get them from me at any time (while supplies last).
Having received the proof, I can how show everyone what exactly they will be getting should they choose to purchase this anthology. Hopefully this will convince everyone that this is in fact a real book and that you should buy it from me if you like having real books. Special thanks to
my laserjet printer Ka-Blam Printing for being incredibly accommodating and getting this to me in such a timely manner.
Front cover. The book is shiny.
Before Colour TV, Everything was in Black and White debuts on April 20 at FanExpo Vancouver.
I’m pleased to announce that my book, Before Colour TV, Everything was in Black and White, will debut at FanExpo Vancouver, held on April 20-21 at the Vancouver Convention Centre.
The book collects four of my short comics (“Mailbox Transmissions”, “An Unexpected Guest”, and two others) as well as an illustrated short story. All of these will eventually be published for free on this site, albeit about half a year to a year later.
I can reserve copies in advance, but none will be sold until FanExpo Vancouver. Send me an email if you want to reserve copies: iwood[at]shortstoriesinpictures.com.
More updates to follow!
The book will be a trade paperback with 116 black and white pages. Cover price is $12,50. If you want a copy your best bet is to pick it up from me at FanExpo.
One thing that particularly captivates me are short, concise, complete stories, like the twilight zone. Little self-contained jewels of storytelling. There are two things I do. I tell stories, and I draw pictures.
Welcome to Short Stories in Pictures, where you will find (among other things) short stories in pictures.
